What this policy covers
This policy is about portal42.com — this website. It explains what we collect when you visit, get in touch, or ask for a demo.
It is not about the information inside Portal42 itself. If you are a customer of a dispensary that runs Portal42, your records belong to that dispensary. They decide what is collected and how long it is kept; we hold it on their behalf under a separate written agreement. To ask about your records, or to have them corrected or removed, contact the dispensary directly — they are the people who can act on it.
What we collect on this website
When you contact us. If you request a demo or send us a message, we receive what you type: your name, your dispensary, your state, how many locations you run, what you use today, what you tell us about your situation, and how you would like to be reached.
Automatically. Like any website, ours records basic technical information — your IP address, your browser and device type, which pages you looked at, and when. This is used to keep the site working and to spot abuse.
Cookies. We use only what the site needs to function and to tell humans from bots. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to advertisers.
Why we use it
- To answer you, and to prepare a demo that reflects how your store actually runs
- To keep the site available, fast and secure
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
Who else sees it
Only the suppliers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose — our website host, our email provider, and the tools we use to manage enquiries. They are bound to protect it and may not use it for anything else.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Technical logs are kept for a short period. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time and we will. Depending on where you live you may have further rights — tell us where you are and we will honour what applies.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiry data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
This site is not for the general public's cannabis purchases
Portal42 sells software to licensed cannabis retailers. This site is intended for business operators, not consumers, and it is not directed at anyone under the legal age in their state.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will say so rather than hope you notice.
